a new painting from my recent winter trip to Scotland´s Glen Coe... painting in the car was not so easy, so I moved back and forth from inside to outside in the chilly winds... in the end I captured some of the very impressive power of these mountains, I guess. No wonder this part of the country is so full of history, legends and myths! Watermarks and lines, scratches and other watercolor effects are important to my work and keep fascinating me. Watercolor on 300g Arches professional watercolor paper 31x31 cm, unframed, frames shown are just examples. Signed on front and on the back. Certificate of authenticity. Germany
Based in Germany, Gesa Reuter’s artistic practice started in 1996. She has since studied the techniques of the old Dutch masters, layering selfmade gouache, egg tempera and sometimes oil to build her paintings with different layers of paint from thin to thick. Recently she has discovered the power of watercolours and ink in her work, enjoying the way the watery materials leave marks and traces to describe her inner feelings and emotions. Rather than painting an accurate visual representation of a landscape, she prefers to use the power of memory; her artworks are an expression of her feelings and emotions in the moment of experiencing the landscape." (Inside Artists, Issue 9, Summer 2017) So far, her works have been exhibited in Germany and Europe, mainly sold to private collectors in Germany, U.S.A., UK, NL, New Zealand, Saudi Arabia, to architects, small companies, private medical and psychological practices. In public collection of Amateras Foundation, Bulgaria, NHS England and Kunsthaus Stove, Germany.
