" Fallen Idol # 1 " This work focuses on our idolisation of the celebrity and the belief that what they say or do is beyond question, a superior being, though perhaps in reality, a false prophet who achieves division and strife. The sculpture is created from a Herculite plaster, with a re-enforced back, covered in lead then coated in gold polish. This is a wall piece and can be shown in two positions. The first is the Fallen Idol, an out of control collapse of understanding, of what binds us, a self destruct button of love for ones self. The second is the assent to a life of grandeur and self idolisation, to love only ones self and to pontificate on what one cannot understand. Both positions I find visually striking ( see images ). This work has been formulated over many years, only now capable of "standing alone", as now I feel it is complete. My aim for this body part is for it to appear as if born in a volcanic liquid of rage and power. Begun in 1994 / completed in 2020

UK The inspiration for my art comes from dreams, myths, travels and intuition. My works are mainly figurative and my root influences are what I experience, (the pain and pleasure of life). I believe that creativity is a pathway to the soul, it both expresses and illuminates.
