This Durer-like, woodcut-like, graphic tells of a sleeping creature at the work’s bottom – save in its cave – and a turbulent world above it, in which religious and other ghosts fight it out among themselves. The figure on the middle right, its arms held downwards, is in conversation with a sympathetic other to whom it tells its story (within a story), while an elongated, somewhat impervious, knight is trying to leave the tumultuous scene as quickly as possible. All this tohu wa-bohu is not awaiting the light of creation (as thought in the Testament) but is its core, -- unceasing movement among frightful as well as sheltered creatures living together. The work is printed on Hot Press Fine Art Smooth Bright White paper (an acid free, 100% cotton rag media with a bright textured finish, yielding an extremely high color gamut and black density). It is signed and numbered by the artist, accompanied by a CoA, and shipped without hanging hardware, in a very sturdy tube protected against folding and puncture.

I am an experimental artist working in digital painting, graphics, abstract photography, animation, and textile design. My work is abstract in the sense that I invent shapes, colors, and textures without reference to representational concerns. Working entirely digitally, I consider the boundaries between domains of visual art as entirely permeable. Since I work with a large variety of tools aided by a mastery of controlled random, the outcome of my composition and design processes are unpredictable; their results often straddle the line between established visual-art categories. The majority of my visual work is found on SaatchiArt where my musical compositions and German and English poetry are found at www.ottolaske.com. Outside of my artistic work, I am the founder and director of the Interdevelopmental Institute (IDM), a graduate-level teaching institute for those interested in adult-developmental thinking and research.
