Lightjet Print on Kodak Pro Endura paper, glossy, with an additional white border. Limited edition of 5 Comes with a certificate of authenticity, edition nr. and signature. Next to the Old State Gallery in Stuttgart James Stirling erected the postmodern New State Gallery. In the middle of the museum he placed a sunken entrance, and maybe he was inspired by the Marble Palace in Potsdam where an adjacent building is constructed as a sunken portico. I was fascinated by Stirling's simplifying handling of the motif, and was inclined to continue the playful treatment of it. So I started by reducing the yellow color of the marble wall. Subsequently I amplified the red bordering and darkened the doorway to make it vanish as such. So I got a dark void delimited by a glowing red framework. On request, also available as 150 x 102 cm

Once a scholar, now a photographer: After retiring, Hans Carl Finsen, a professor of German, has started a new career as a fine art photographer. Actually, he has been practicing photography for decades, but not until now sought an audience. His debut was in 2013. Lives and works in Aarhus, Denmark. As a photographer Finsen is looking for aesthetically interesting, thrilling, appealing or pleasing constellations. In the quest for these constellations he doesn't confine himself to certain subjects or a certain style. He moves in all directions where inspiration takes him and so his work is diversified. Nevertheless three focus points are discernible: 1 architecture and townscape 2 the art museum. He visits museums worldwide to get inspired by interiors and exteriors, works of art, visitors and the view from the museum 3 masters. He remodels, remasters, modifies and combines old and new masters creating the series 'Masters Remodeled' alphahc@mail8.dk https://hcfinsen.myportfolio.com
