A monumental columnar body - "Monototo no.1" Hand-formed aluminum fields covered with Indian ink are formed into cubes and cuboids using a specially developed process and riveted, then - following the tension structure of the body - pressed in, beaten and further transformed. After this rather aggressive act, the structures come to a relaxed calm. Something that is otherwise hidden under the externality of the structure is set in the open through this transformation. Only then are the individual forms combined into a whole - a massive, free-standing column. The final polish creates bare aluminum structures and surfaces from the underlying tension structure. The work thereby passes into its perfect effectiveness. Thanks to the natural oxidation layer of the aluminum, this mysterious mood is permanently preserved. The sculpture weighs approx. 16 kg, is signed with the initials cR and dated on the underside.

Robausch’s artworks oscillate between painting and sculpture, texture and structure, matter and space. Based on his long experience in architecture and industrial design, he developed a special technique to build wall objects and freestanding sculptures. The essence of his objects is the specially designed supporting structure - currently - coated with aluminium. Painted with india ink and hand-sanded with diamond abrasive, his artworks create a timeless depth, with a unique atmosphere.
