Emmy started painting from a very early age, mostly in an autodidactic way. In 1999 she graduated from a Career in Communications, after having the opportunity to attend one of the intensive workshops at the prestigiuos New York Film Academy in 1998. She then works on a 6 month specialization in B/W Photography back in Monterrey, and then becomes involved in several independent film and music video projects, to turn in 2000 towards cultural radio for 5 years, as producer, anchor and scriptwriter. Emmy spent 2 years fully committed to her writing, in which time she wrote a novel and a half. She came back to art, illustration and design by her 2 years attendance to Fashion School, where she graduated with honors. From 2011 to 2013 she was part of the Art Atelier of renowned mexican Visual Artist Lorena Rodriguez at MARCO. Emmy works with Oils, Acrylic, Pastels, Watercolor, Marker, pencil and ink Illustration. She likes to work with Mixed Media and Collage, and love to explore the disciplines of photography, video, audio, literature and fashion in her projects. She has several Collective Shows, one Individual and was selected by "Entijuanarte 2012" to be an exhibiting artist at the Festival. She is currently working on the development of several series, seeking to reflect in them her preoccupation with the role of women on the XXI Century, the political road which seems to be shaping our present global village, as well as: the visual addiction which we have inherited in the New Millennium, the new taboos to break, and the fashion, beauty and sophistication of her Criolla and Mestiza inheritance, reflected upon contemporary Mexico and our Global Village. On the other hand she continues to explore the possibilities of Social media, as a platform for creating and sharing art in the XXI Century.
