This year marked for all of us a period in which we spent a lot of time alone, locked in our four walls. We used to live the dynamic life, but this year was a big slow down for all of us. Even if this period was full of negative things happening arpund us, there is some positivity in all of that after all. A new dimension of possibilities opened up to us, a view of life from a different perspective and proof that one can live differently from what we are used to and claimed that one cannot live differently. Most importantly of all this year has brought us time for ourselves, family, time to take care of ourselves and the people, the things we love. Of course, financially, we are all under pressure, but on the other hand, we have a lot of mental wealth. A time for reading, talking, a time for silence and peace, a time for a sense of belonging to your home and your family, and even if only family we have are pets. :) This painting is another in a series of records from my imagination - an isolation diary. It represents a retro composition of a woman who is inside her room in Japan. Japan as an eternal source of inspiration for me, but also as a symbol of peace and the land of the rising sun and happiness. The female figure holds in her hands a mirror on which her reflection is - a symbol of self-knowledge. Get to know yourself first in order to get to know and love others in the right way. In the composition, we also see the contrast between playful floral patterns and sharp geometric shapes. I wanted to experiment with the details and I think the contrast I got is really interesting. The window on the composition gives airiness, Mount Fuji can be seen. The cat at the window is my self-portrait within the composition. The dog is a symbol of fidelity and friendship, and looks the observer in the eye to awaken the interaction with the artwork. The red ball next to the dog represents the symbol of Japan - a circle from the Japanese flag. The question is do you know who you are? Without name, profession, family, friends, experiences? Do you know yourself to the deepest point of existence? Have you given yourself time to meet the person you spend the most time with in your life?
