The California Tower has stood at the entrance to Balboa Park, San Diego, since 1915. It's a reminder of the exposition that was held here to mark the opening of the Panama Canal. From time to time visitors are allowed to climb the tower. The painting is a view from the Alcazar Garden just across the street from the tower. The garden is a great place for a stroll, or a venue for a wedding. The original oil painting is created on an 11 X 14 inch stretched canvas over a wooden frame. The artist lives in San Diego and shows in Balboa Park.
